The new generation of the Audi A3 has been launched in Romania where the model has a base starting price set at 24,200 euros, VAT included.
The base version of the 2013 Audi A3 is known as the Attraction and it’s offered with a 1.4 liter TFSI engine which is producing 122 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the cheapest diesel version, the 1.6 liter TDI with 105 horsepower and the same six-speed manual transmission can be bought from 24,820 euros, VAT included.
The 2013 Audi A3 is more expensive than its competition and the Citroen DS4 1.6 HDI (110 HP) has a starting price of 21,941 euros, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Progression (105 HP) costs 22,300 euros and the Volvo V40 D2 Basic (115 HP) costs 22,816 euros. The only model in class which is more expensive than the new A3 is the BMW 116d, with its 116 HP, which costs 25,978 euros.
The new generation of the Audi A3 is riding on the MQB platform (Modular Transverse Matrix), the same one which is also being used on the all-new VW Golf 7. The model is 4,237 mm long, 1,777 mm wide and 1,421 mm tall. The 2013 Audi A3 has been revealed earlier this year back in March during the Geneva Motor Show.
