The new generation of the Audi A4 midsize vehicle will be officially unveiled later on this month.
While BMW is already into the facelifted version of the new 3-Series generation and Mercedes-Benz is offering the new C-Class for quite some time yet, Audi has fallen behind with its A4 competitor of the D-segment, but things are about to change soon. According to a recent report, the new generation of the Audi A4 will be officially unveiled by the end of June. This will be introduced in its two body styles, sedan and avant, and the „ceremony” will take place in Ingolstadt, at the company’s headquarters.
The 2016 Audi A4 will be getting an evolutionary design and it will be riding on the MLB platform, losing an estimated 100 kg from its weight. Both body styles will grow in size in order to make room for the smaller CLA four-door coupe and they will be getting the tablet-style center display inside, along with a full digital instrument cluster which will be hosting the navigation system, along with other goodies. The engine lineup is expected to include diesel, petrol and hybrid units, which will be producing between 120 HP (88 kW) and 326 HP (240 kW). A range topping version, in the shape of the RS4, is also expected, but not this year. Chances are we will get to see the new Audi A4 generation in the flesh at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, this September.
