New-gen Ford Focus RS might share engine with the Mustang
The North American based automaker Ford is planning to use the same engine from the new generation of the Focus RS on the upcoming Mustang muscle car.
The announcement hasn’t been made officially just yet but rumors on the new Ford Focus RS generation sharing some components with the upcoming Mustang have been around for quite some time. According to a recent report made by Car Magazine, the new generation of the Ford Focus RS will use the same engine as the future Ford Mustang. The new model might become the world’s most powerful hot hatch, after the “title” has been recently taken by the Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.
Ford or Car Magazine didn’t offer any performance details on the new generation of the Ford Focus RS but considering the fact that the last Focus RS came with 299 HP (301 PS) and with a whopping 345 HP (350 PS) for the RS 500 Limited Edition, than we can say that the upcoming version will be more powerful. The new generation of the Ford Focus RS is expected to hit the market in 2015. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced close to its debut.
