The new generation of the Honda Accord has been recently launched in Malaysia, where the cheapest model is now available from RM139, 800.
The Malaysian division of Honda has recently announced the launch of the new Accord in the Asian country, where the ninth generation of the model has entered the D-segment market, as a CKD locally assembled model in three versions, the 2.0 VTi, the 2.0 VTi-L and the 2.4 VTi-L. A new engine is now available for the Honda Accord, a 2.4 liter, which is good for 175 HP, at 6,200 rpm, and 225 Nm of torque, available at 4,000 rpm.
Honda says that the 2.0 liter SOHC i-VTEC unit has been carried over and it’s good for 155 HP and 190 Nm of torque. This unit has been improved and it’s now offering 10 percent better fuel efficiency. Both engine can be mated to a five-speed torque converter automatic transmission. A total of five colors are available for the Accord in Malaysia and the model is getting a five-year warranty with unlimited mileage and a 10,000 km service interval. Prices for the 2.0 VTi start at RM139,800 and they can rise to RM172,800 for the 2.4 VTi-L.
