The new generation of the popular Hyundai i30 hatchback has been revealed and it’s been developed to attract younger buyers. The newest South Korean hatch will be officially presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.
The next generation of the i30 has Hyundai’s signature hexagonal-shaped grille, with a muscular shoulder-line, and it’s the company’s ace in a sleeve to gain new customers in the segment.
“We expect the new generation i30 to appeal to young, progressive buyers, who want a car that not only performs well but looks great too”, said the Hyundai Motor Europe chief operating officer, Allan Rushforth.
The South Korean automaker says that the new generation of the i30 will go against the VW Golf, Opel Astra or the Ford Focus in Europe, but the sales reports of 2010 show that the Germans are on a new level, with 500.000 units of the Golf sold on the Old Continent, while Hyundai managed to find 115.000 new owners of its i30 model last year.
Hyundai didn’t provide any extra details about its new i30 generation but the hatchback is expected to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week, when the German event will officially open its gates.
