The 2016 Jaguar XF has been spotted recently while it was being tested out in the snow.
The British based automaker Jaguar is currently working on a new generation of the XF, besides other vehicles which also include the F-Pace, the company’s first SUV, and the model in question has been caught on camera recently, by our spy photographers. Despite wearing some medium camouflage on its body, the new generation of the Jaguar XF is still revealing us some of its lines which are showing an evolutionary design and also some styling tweaks borrowed from its smaller brother, the compact XE, which is rivaling models such as the BMW 3-Series, Cadillac ATS, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
The 2016 Jaguar XF is expected to ride on a completely new platform, which will also be shared with the replacement of the XJ. These will be based on the PLA full size car platform which is currently being developed for Range Rovers. The second generation of the Jaguar XF seems to be similar in shape with models such as the 5-door Audi A5 Sportback, getting a liftback for easier access and a sloping coupe roof. The new model is believed to come out sometimes next year and it is expected to get a new lineup of Ingenium engines, along with the 9-speed automatic transmission from the Range Rover Evoque. More details on the next generation of the Jaguar XF are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its debut.
