New-gen Kia Sportage spied near the Arctic Circle image

The South Korean based carmaker Kia is currently testing out the new generation of the Sportage as the model in question has been spotted near the Arctic Circle.

Cold weather climate testing seems to be a “must” for most car producers these days and since the competition is doing it, Kia has also decided to play in the same league. The test mule pictured below is representing the new generation of the Kia Sportage, as this has been caught on camera recently, by our spy photographers, while it was being tested out.

The model in question will be coming with a bigger Tiger nose 3D front grille, with new wraparound headlights, with more prominent fog lights and with some overall looks which seem to have been inspired by the KX3 Concept. The rear end will be receiving a new set of LED taillights, a new bumper and some other tweaks which will put some space between it and the current version.

The 2017 Kia Sportage will also come with an updated interior design, where we will get to see the resculpted dashboard, the extra equipment, the new materials used on it and so on. As far as the engine lineup goes, the updated Sportage will be coming with a 1.6 liter CRDi unit, with 136 HP, alon with an R-Engine 190 HP, a T-GDi 1.2 liter with 132 HP, a 1.6L with 201 HP and a 2 liter T-GDi producing 245 HP. At the time of its launch, the model will get the 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
