The new generation of the Mazda MX-5 has been recently caught on camera by our spy photographers on the Nurburgring, the model was being tested.
The Japanese based automaker is Mazda is getting ready to introduce the fourth generation of the MX-5, as a test mule of this version has been recently spotted on the famous German track the Nurburgring, where it was being tested. The 2016 Mazda MX-6 will have the tough job of replacing one of the most popular two-door convertible vehicles out there, which has been in production ever since 2005 in its current form.
The images posted below are revealing the added section in front of the A-pillar, the longer doors, which can suggest a longer wheelbase, the extended arches, which might mean a wider track and some other tweaks, which will be made clearly once the model will be officially unveiled. As for the engine options, the new generation of the Mazda MX-5 is rumored to get a 1.3 liter or a 1.6 liter SkyActiv unit. The model should make its way onto the market sometimes in 2015, which means that it will come as a 2016 model year. Additional details on the new Mazda MX-5 generation are limited for the moment.
