The new generation of the Mazda MX-5 is believed to be officially presented to the public next month, in a world premiere, during the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The 2015 Mazda MX-5 is close to making its public debut and after a lot of rumors have appeared on it, the Japanese based automaker is getting ready to officially pull the wraps off its body. The announcement hasn’t been made by the carmaker just yet and it’s actually part of a report, which has been published by the guys at Auto Week. According to our source, the new Mazda MX-5 generation will be revealed during the 2014 New York Auto Show.
Current rumors are saying that the 2015 Mazda MX-5 will be coming with a naturally aspirated 1.5 liter four-cylinder SkyActiv-G engine under its hood, which has been taken from the Mazda3. If this won’t be enough for its future buyers, the larger 2.0 liter four-cylinder, from the same engine family, will also become available. The upcoming roadster will retain its rear-wheel drive and will share about 40 percent of the components with the Alfa Romeo Spider, weighing in at 2,200 kg. More details on it are limited for the moment and will be announced during the automotive event.
