New-gen Mercedes-Benz GL-Class was launched in India image

The new generation of the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class has been recently launched in India, where the luxury SUV costs Rs. 77.5 lakhs.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, aimed towards India, is being placed into the spotlights once again right after the announcement of its launch has been made just a day before writing this article. As expected, former tennis champion Boris Becker has taken part in the Indian unveil of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

The new GL-Class is coming with features such as the Active Park Assistant, the Collision Prevention Assist, the Attention Assist, the Night View Assist Plus with a 360 degree camera, the Intelligent Light Assist System, the DISTRONIC Assist, the Brake Assist with pre-safe system and 9 nine airbags. The model in question can also be fitted with an AMG body kit and with 21-inch alloy wheels. The “Launch Edition” will be sold in just 100 units but there can be some variations in price and equipment.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class will only be available in a single version in India, which is the GL 350 CDI. The model is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine, which is producing a total output of 255 BHP and it has a peak torque of 620 Nm. The unit is mated to the 7-G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission. The powertrain has improved the fuel efficiency by 20 percent, compared to the previous version.
