The Japanese based automaker Nissan is planning to introduce a new generation of the Murano in April, during the 2014 New York International Auto Show, in a world premiere.
Nissan has already updated most of its vehicle lineup and after pulling the wraps off the new Qashqai generation, everyone was asking questions about the Murano, but the crossover’s new versions seems to be just around the corner. According to the guys at Left Lane News, the model in question will be officially introduced during the 2014 New York International Auto Show in April and it should be getting a lot of updates compared to the outgoing one.
The new Nissan Murano generation is expected to ride on the same unibody platform as the current Altima and its styling will be quite different than the current one, being probably inspired by the new Qashqai. As far as the engine goes, chances are that this will still receive the 3.5 liter VQ V6, mated to a CVT. A hybrid version is also in the pipeline, with a 2.5L four-cylinder supercharged unit and an electric motor, similar to the one found on the current Pathfinder Hybrid. More details on the new Nissan Murano will be announced in New York.
