The first details with the new generation of the Peugeot 308 have been recently announced and the model will be officially presented to the public this year in Frankfurt.
The new generation of the Peugeot 308 will retain the “308” moniker and the model has been recently described as being a combination between a sedan and a hatchback. One of the most interesting parts of the future generation of the model will be the fact that it will take some of the styling cues from the good looking Onyx Concept, which was officially presented to the public last year, during the Paris Motor Show.
When compared to the current Peugeot models, the new 308 will get a lower hood, shorter overhangs and a lower stance. The front fascia will be carried over from the Onyx and the car will ride on the EMP2 platform, with a modular design, made by PSA. The new platform will be used for new C and D-segment vehicles and it should help the new generation of the 308 save approximately 70 kg (154 lbs) compared to the outgoing model. The 2015 Peugeot 308 will be officially presented to the public in September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
