The new generation of the Porsche Panamera is currently being tested out as the model in question will be hitting the market towards the end of next year or even in 2016.
A facelifted version of the Porsche Panamera has been introduced just earlier this year, but that isn’t stopping the German based automaker into starting the development of a new generation of the model. The test mule of the model has been caught on camera by our spy photographers recently while it was being tested out. The vehicle will be riding on the Modular Standard Platform, MSB for short, and it is believed that this will be used on the next Bentley Continental too.
Thanks to the new platform and its use of aluminum, high strength steel and some composites, the new generation of the Porsche Panamera will be lighter than the current one by as much as 100 kg, depending on the selected trim. The same platform is also rumored to be used on the next Porsche 911, with the engine moving to the rear in this case. The brand new Porsche Panamera is believed to be introduced towards the end of 2015 or even one year later, which means that it will come as a 2017 model.
