The safety specialists at the IIHS have recently named the 2014 Subaru Forester a Top Safety Pick+.
After it was officially presented to the public just 6 months ago, during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, in a world premiere, the new generation of the Subaru Forester is ending up in our news once again, this time with the help of the IIHS. According to the guys at Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the 2014 Subaru Forester has been named a Top Safety Pick+. The model has been tested with a lot of crossovers, like the Hyundai Tucson, the Jeep Patrol, two-door Wrangler, BMW X1, Buick Encore, Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, Nissan Rogue, VW Tiguan or Kia Sportage.
The 2014 Subaru Forester was the only vehicle in this group to receive the Top Safety Pick+ thanks to its robust structure. As a quick reminder, the 2014 Subaru Forester is already available for order at the company’s dealership network across the United States. The model is coming with a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine with 170 HP (127 kW) and 235 Nm of torque (174 lb-ft), along with a 250 HP (186 kW) and 349 Nm of torque (258 lb-ft) 2.0 liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged unit.
