The great pixel gurus over at OmniAuto have decided to have a go at the upcoming new generation BMW X3, which is the crossover that needs to be a smashing success for the automaker.
The compact luxury SUV segment is highly disputed, so BMW is looking forward to its new generation X3 to become a bestseller. The model will be officially unveiled sometimes next year, and the digital artists have imagined the successor picking up after the cues of its forerunner. As such, we’re treated to the familiar evolutionary design that makes the models instantly recognizable. The front fascia comes with a bigger kidney grille tucked in between the LED headlights and circular fog lights. Emphasizing the SUV credentials are the plastic body cladding, the muscular character line and making you feel at home is the gently sloping roof. According to word on the Internet, which has been flooded with spy shots, the X3 should also come with a tailgate-mounted spoiler, a dual exhaust system, and wraparound taillights.
BMW has been acting al mysterious about the upcoming generation, but it’s expected the cabin will be treated to the same evolutionary design. It should also get a new three-spoke steering wheel and the now traditional freestanding iDrive display. Alongside other revisions, drivers could also get a digital instrument cluster. Under the hood nothing new is going on – the usual roster of 2.0-liter four-cylinder and 3.0-liter inline-six engines should be there. BMW could also deliver high-performance models such as the X3 M40i and the X3 M boasting up to 500 hp.
