The Japanese based automaker Honda is planning to launch a roadster version of the NSX model too, once the new generation will hit the market in the nearby future.
After talking about the new generation of the Honda NSX which is a step closer to the production line thanks to the concept version which will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, it seems that the car manufacturer has big plans for the model. According to autoexpress.co.uk, besides the “classic” NSX model, which will most likely hit the production line in the nearby future, Honda is also planning to develop a roadster version of the sports car. Our source is also telling us that the upcoming Honda NSX will compete with the Audi R8.
As a reminder, the new Honda NSX Concept will be powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine which will “move” one axle, while a pair of electric motors will power the other axle. This means that the model will have four-wheel drive and a hybrid layout, with a total output of over 400 horsepower. The final production form of the Honda NSX’s new generation is expected to make its debut sometimes in 2013, and the vehicle has all the chances of hitting the dealerships within the next couple of years.
