The Japanese based automaker Infiniti is planning to reveal a new electric vehicle concept at the 102 New York Auto Show in April.
Even if when hearing about an electric vehicle concept with the Infiniti badge on it we automatically think at the Emerg-E concept, which made its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the car company will present a concept of a Nissan Leaf based sedan which will also get some of the exterior tweaks of the Infiniti Emerg-E Concept, according to the guys at thedetroitbureau.com.
“It was designed to be a luxury vehicle first and an electric vehicle second”, said Sam Chung, the Infiniti marketing manager. “Zero emissions is something we’re pursuing in a more aggressive way.”
Unfortunately we don’t have any other details on the new Infiniti EV Concept, but as a small reminder, the Emerg-E Concept was being powered by a 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine, made by Lotus, and two electric motors, each of them generating 201 BHP, while the petrol burner was developing 47 BHP. The concept could be driven on electric power alone up to 30 miles but the range was extended to 300 miles with the help of the electric engines. The new Infiniti EV will make its debut on the 4th of April, 2012, at the New York Auto Show.
