Kia has recently announced its plans to produce the brand new Pro Cee’d GT in Slovakia, at the Zilina plant.
After it was officially unveiled just a day before writing this article and with the Czech based automaker releasing more details and images with its brand new hot hatch just hours ago, the Kia Pro Cee’d GT is ending up in our news once again, this time with an announcement. According to the car manufacturer, the new Kia Pro Cee’d GT will be produced in Zilina, Slovakia, along with the regular version, the five-door hatchback. Production of the Pro Cee’d GT will start in mid-May.
As a quick reminder, the Kia Pro Cee’d GT is powered by a 1.6 liter GDI turbocharged engine, which is producing a total output of 201 HP (150 kW) and it has a peak torque of 265 Nm (195 lb-ft). Power is being sent to the front-wheel drive through a six-speed manual transmission, which is allowing the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.9 seconds. The hot hatch is also receiving an aggressive body kit, red brake calipers, Recaro sport seats and more. Pricing of the model will be announced close to its launch.
