The new generation of the Kia Rio in two variants, the 5-door hatchback and the sedan, will be introduced into the United States auto market.
The 2012 Rio for the US will be available in three trim levels, the LX, EX and the SX, powered by a 1.6 liter, four-cylinder GDI engine, mated to a six speed manual (for the LX) or a six-speed automatic transmission.
“The all-new 2012 Rio five-door and its sedan sibling proudly wear their own interpretations of Kia’s signature grille, slimmed down to connect the dynamic headlamp design to provide a new twist on the Kia family look that includes a bigger air intake to exude a youthful persona”, as the manufacturer explains.
The base LX has standard body-colored door handles and side mirrors, rear spoiler, multi-reflector head lamps, rear wiper and washer and 15 inch steel wheels wrapped in 185/65R15 tires.
The EX version has a chrome front grille surround and power door locks with keyless entry, while the SX comes with fog lights, dual-chrome exhaust tips, power folding heated mirrors with turn signal indicators and 17 inch wheels wrapped in 205/45R17 tires.
