Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus has recently announced that the new GS has been launched in Malaysia, where the entry level version starts at RM366,200.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the new Lexus GS is being offered in five versions, the GS 250, the GS 250 Luxury, the GS 250 F-Sport, the GS 350 Luxury and the GS 350 F-Sport, which are being offered in three trim levels, the standard, Luxury and F-Sport, along with two engine options.
Lexus says that the new GS can be ordered with a 2.5 liter 4GR-FSE engine, which is developing a total output of 206 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 253 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm, allowing a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 235 km/h. Besides the 2.5 liter engine, a 3.5 liter 2GR-FSE V6 unit is also available for the new GS, which is generating 312 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 378 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 230 km/h. Both engines are mated to a six-speed Super ECT automatic transmission which is “moving” the rear wheels.
The standard Lexus GS 250 is being offered with the 2.5 liter engine and with leather seats, 10-way adjustment for the driver’s seat with memory setting, dual-zone climate control, 8-inch LCD screen and 12-channel speaker Lexus Premium Audio system. The new Lexus GS is made in Tahara plant, in Japan, and it’s offered with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty. The GS 250 starts at RM366,200, the GS 250 Luxury at RM398,660, the GS 250 F-Sport at RM400,600, the GS 350 Luxury at RM456,800 and the GS 350 F-Sport at RM464,800.
