The Japanese based automaker Lexus has recently announced the official launch of the new IS in Malaysia, where the model has been priced from RM269, 900.
The cheapest version of the new Lexus IS will set you back for RM269,900 and for the money you will receive the IS 250, which is powered by a 205 HP and 252 Nm of torque (4,800 rpm) 2.5 liter V6 engine. The naturally aspirated unit has D4 direct injection and Dual-VVTi and it’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint in the model is done in 8.1 seconds and top speed stands at 225 km/h.
Next in the lineup is the IS 250 Luxury, which is adding the navigation system, rearview camera, 18-inch rims and power rear sunshade, priced from RM299,900, followed by the IS 250 F-Sport, with its RM333,000 starting price. The top of the line version is, of course, the IS 300h, which can be yours from RM383,000 in Malaysia, on the road without insurance. This version is powered by a 2.5 liter four-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine, helped by an electric motor. The total output produced by the hybrid powertrain stands at 220 HP (164 kW) and 221 Nm of torque, available from 4,200 rpm, on the internal combustion engine, on which the electric motor is providing an extra 300 Nm. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint takes 8.5 seconds and top speed stands at 200 km/h. This is indeed slower than the IS 250, but it does compensate.
