The Japanese based automaker Mazda has revealed the first official image with the new generation of the Mazda6 Estate, as the model has entered production in Japan.
After starting its life as the Takeri Concept last year and being teased a few times in official images and videos, the new generation of the Mazda6 is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time with the car manufacturer releasing the first official photo with the Estate version of the model. The 2014 Mazda6 Estate is getting the same front fascia as the sedan but it’s adding a more agnular rear and tailgate, along with forward mounted hinges for easier access in confined spaces.
The new generation of the Mazda6 Estate will share the engine lineup with the regular version of the model, the sedan, and this will include the 2.2 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel with 148 BHP and the 2.0 liter Skyactiv engine in two outputs, 164 and 174 BHP. The new generation of the Mazda6 will be officially presented to the public this autumn in September at the 2012 Paris Motor Show and the model will go on sale worldwide next year in spring, for a starting price of approximately 18,000 GBP.
