New Mitsubishi Mirage getting ready for U.S. launch

The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently announced its plans to introduce the new Mirage to the United States next year.

According to the car manufacturer, the sub-compact vehicle will be officially presented to the public over-seas during the 2013 New York Auto Show in April and the model will finally arrive in the company’s dealerships in September, the same year. It is unclear whether Mitsubishi will keep the Mirage name for the model in the United States but rumors are saying that it will because the model is already going on sale in several markets across Asia with this name.

The United States version of the Mitsubishi Mirage is expected to get a 1.2 liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine under its hood, but the specifications for the unit remain unknown for the moment. In Europe, the Mitsubishi Mirage is coming with a 1.0 liter engine, producing 70 HP, along with a larger 1.2 liter generating 79 HP. Additional details on the new Mitsubishi Mirage aimed towards the United States are limited for the moment and will probably be announced during the 2013 New York Auto Show in April, where the model will make its public debut.
