Peugeot is continuing its success with the 308 model in China by developing a new generation for the local auto market, which will replace the current 307.
Even though it is still a good seller for the Dongfeng-Peugeot joint venture, the 307 will be replaced by the new 308 in China. This isn’t the only move the French auto maker will make on the Asian continent, with a 208 face placed on the old 207, a saloon version, a 408 which is actually a stretched 308 and a 508.
The French auto maker seems to be very successful on the Chinese market and while the industry here makes replicas of almost everything, Peugeot is playing with its existing models and coming up with new cars from these.
The new 308 has been caught testing in China and the pictures show a low end version, which according to chinacartimes.com will be powered by a two engines, 1.6L and 1.8L, scheduled to go on sale this September.
