The new generation of the Peugeot 308 will hit the market in early 2014, while the 308 GTI will come one year later.
After it was officially unveiled just a few days ago, the brand new Peugeot 308 is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of Auto Express, which claims that the model will hit the market in early 2014. The brand new Peugeot 308 is riding on a different platform, the EMP2, engineered by PSA, which will also be used on future C- or D-segment cars coming from either Peugeot or Citroen.
The Peugeot 308, in its new generation, is 4.25 meters long and 1.46 meters tall, being shorter and lower than the outgoing version of the model, but the room inside has increased and the trunk has a 470-liter capacity. The new Peugeot 308 is also getting improved CO2 emissions, which can be as low as 85 g/km on most economical variants. The model will be produced in Sochaux, France, and it will be officially presented to the public in September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. An estate version will follow it next year, along with a GTI variant, in 2015.
