The German based automaker Porsche has recently announced that the all-new Boxster will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 New York Auto Show on the 4th of April, along with the Cayenne Diesel.
The third generation of the Porsche Boxster, which is wearing the 2013 model year in its name, will make its debut on the 4th of April at the New York Auto Show. The redesigned Porsche Boxster was originally revealed in March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, in both Boxster and Boxster S versions, and the model has more powerful and more fuel efficient boxer engines. Besides this, the new Boxster is also 77 lbs lighter than its predecessor and it’s coming with a fully-electric top, which can be retracted or deployed at speeds up to 31 mph in nine seconds. The Boxster is expected to be priced at 49,500 USD and the Boxster S at 60,900 USD, not including a 950 USD destination charge.
Besides the all-new Porsche Boxster, the car manufacturer will also introduce the Cayenne Diesel to the over-seas automotive event, which is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel engine, developing a total output of 240 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque from 1,750 rpm. The Cayenne Diesel can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 135 mph. The model can travel an estimated 740 miles on a single fuel tank and it’s rated to two up to 7,716 lbs. Prices of the Cayenne Diesel will start at 55,750 USD, not including a $975 destination charge.
