The upcoming Porsche Boxster Spyder has been detailed in a new report as the model in question should be seen sometimes this year, probably in Frankfurt, this autumn.
The 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder is getting ready to hit the market but until that will happen, the model in question is ending up in our news in various reports. The newest one has been released by Car Magazine and it is contradicting the rumor which is indicating that the sports car will not get a power bump over the GTS, which is currently offered with 330 HP (243 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque. Our source is stating that the new Porsche Boxster Spyder will be positioned above the GTS and it will be a more hardcore model.
This will be getting a flat six-cylinder engine under its hood, which is expected to produce as much as 375 HP (276 kW), more than the GTS’ 330 HP (243 kW). Besides the power bump, the sports car will also get a more aggressive body, some chassis tweaks, a lowered suspension system, bespoke wheels, a ducktail rear spoiler and several other tweaks to help it stand out. The 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder is rumored to be offered in some limited numbers, similar to the new Cayman GT4. More details on the model are limited at this time and will probably be announced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be opening its gates this September.
