Renault is planning to launch a production model with the Alpine logos on its body by 2015 which is considered to become an instant hit.
Rumors on the revival of the iconic Alpine brand have surfaced ever since last year but now thanks to the partnership between Renault and Caterham, a new model with Alpine logos on its body is getting ready to hit the market. If you’re a fan of the iconic brand than you will have to wait a couple of years before you will be able to get your hands on the model because Renault is planning to launch it by 2015.
“It won’t be more hardcore than a Mazda MX-5. What we do will not be soft, but not hardcore like a Peugeot 106 Rallye. You can’t betray the DNA of Alpine. That’s a third of what the car will be”, said the Renault marketing boss, Stephan Norman.
Revival of the Renault Alpine brand should have began back in 2007 but because of the economic crisis, the action has been delayed. The final production version of the Alpine model is expected to be powered by a Renault engine, which should produce 250 HP (186 kW). Additional details on the model will be announced close to its debut.
