New Renault Megane RS to be called the RS275R image

The Renault Megane RS, which has been recently teased a couple of times, is said to be called the RS275R once it will become available.

The French based automaker Renault has a simple target, that of becoming the Nurburgring king once again, with setting a new lap record for front-wheel drive production cars, which will take under 8 minutes. The crown has been stolen by the Seat Leon Cupra 280, which managed to lap the famous German track in just 7 minutes and 58 seconds, but it seems that the updated French hot hatch will be even faster.

According a new report, published by Caradisiac, the model in question will be called the RS275R and it should be able to lap the Ring in just 7 minutes and 45 seconds. If this happens, than the hot hatch will be 13 seconds faster than the Seat Leon Cupra 280, but also as fast as an Audi R8 V10 Plus and faster than a BMW M3 GTS and even than the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. The updated Megane RS will get a new suspension system, Michelin tires and an Akrapovic exhaust system and it will be unveiled on June 16.
