The Spanish based automaker Seat has recently released the first details with the new generation of the Leon Cupra, which should hit the market next year.
After showing us the new generation of the Seat Leon, in its two body styles, five-door hatchback and three-door SC, the carmaker is placing the popular model into the spotlights once again, this time by releasing the first details on its high performance model, the Cupra. According to the car manufacturer, the new generation of the Seat Leon Cupra will make its way onto the market in 2014 and it could be available in three body styles, for the first time, a five-door hatchback, a three-door hatchback and an estate.
According to the guys at Auto Express, the new generation of the Seat Leon Cupra will produce more power than the new Volkswagen Golf GTI or the Skoda Octavia vRS, using the same 2.0 liter TSI engine. This will produce around 261 BHP and power will be sent to the front-wheel drive through a limited-slip differential, just like the one found on the Golf. The company’s director of Vehicle Engineering and Chassis Development, Fermin Soneira Santos, said that the new Leon Cupra will get a competitive price to the new Golf GTI. The model will ride on the same MQB platform.
