The new generation of the Subaru Forster is enjoying a great start in its home market, breaking its expectations four times over.
According to the Japanese based automaker, the new Subaru Forester generation had an initial monthly sales target of 2,000 units in its home market but the demand was very high and, in fact, the company’ dealers have received 8,149 orders in about a month since the model has been launched. Most Japanese have chosen the naturally aspirated mode (61.4 percent) and the most popular color is the Satin White Pearl (27 percent), followed by the Crystall Black Silica (24.9 percent).
As a quick reminder, the Subaru Forester is getting a choice of two petrol engines in Japan, a 2.0 liter flat four, producing a total output of 146 HP, mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT, and a more powerful 2.0 liter turbocharged boxer unit, generating a total output of 276 HP, mated to just the CVT. The North American market will get the 2.5 liter boxer engine, producing 170 HP, with a choice of the six-speed manual or the CVT, along with the 2.0 liter direct injection turbocharged boxer with the CVT.
