The Japanese based automaker Subaru has recently announced its plans to launch the new Forester generation to Malaysia.
After it made its debut in its home market, and with the model being officially presented to the public during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show last week, the new generation of the Subaru Forester is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the Japanese based automaker announcing its arrival in Malaysia too. According to the car manufacturer, the fourth generation of the Subaru Forester will make its Malaysian debut in 2013.
The model is expected to get a choice of two engines under its hood in the Asian country, the 2.0 liter naturally aspirated boxer engine and a 2.0 liter direct injected turbocharged boxer. The former is the same one from the CKD Subaru XV, which is producing a total output of 150 PS and 196 Nm of torque, while the other one is generating 280 PS and 350 Nm of torque, available between 2,000 and 5,600 rpm. Both engines will be mated to the Lineatronic CVT transmission. Additional details on the Malaysian Subaru Forester will be announced sometimes next year, close to the model’s launch.
