New Volkswagen Touran unveiled, going to Geneva image

The all-new Volkswagen Touran has been officially unveiled as the model will be making its public debut next week, at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

The 2016 Volkswagen Touran is being highlighted these days as the model in question has been officially unveiled. This is getting a sharpened design and it stands at 130 mm longer than its predecessor, with 113 mm added to the length of the wheelbase. Thanks to the more spacious interior, the cabin can now be had with the 5- or 7-seat configurations and the carmaker says that the cargo capacity has went up by 48 liters, to 1,040 liters, but with the rear seats folded, this stands at 1,980 liters.

The new MPV is riding on the MQB platform and it stands at 62 kg lighter than its predecessor. Safety gizmos found on it include the traffic jam assist, the front assist with city emergency braking, the automatic post collision braking, the adaptive cruise control, side assist with rear traffic alert, trailer assist and so on. Other goodies found on the model are the LED headlights, the MirrorLink technology in the cabin, the tri-zone climate control system, the optional electronic voice amplification system and more.

The cabin of the vehicle has been significantly updated and it is providing support for the Apple Car Play and for the Google Android Auto. The Volkswagen Touran has an engine lineup which includes the 1.2 TSI 110 HP, the 1.4 TSI 150 HP, the 1.8 TSI 180 HP, the 1.6 TDI with 110 HP and two 2.0 TDIs with 150 HP and 190 HP. All units are getting the brake energy recuperation and the stop / start system. Order books will be opened this summer and deliveries will begin in the second half of the year.
