The German based automaker Volkswagen has recently announced a new 7-seater SUV which will be designed and produced in the United States.
After some rumors appeared not too long ago saying that Volkswagen is planning to develop a new 7-seater SUV which might be aimed exclusively towards the North American auto market, the model is being placed into the spotlight once more, this time by the company’s CEO Martin Winterkorn, who has announced the plans to design and produce this model in the United States.
The new 7-seat SUV is known internally as the B-SUV and the vehicle will get a third row seating arrangement and it’s the company’s attempt to gain some new customers which are currently looking into the Ford Explorer or the Honda Pilot. Rumor has it that the new Volkswagen SUV with its seven seats will ride on the MQB modular platform, the same one from the new Audi A3 or from the VW Golf 7 and other models produced by the company or by its sub-brands.
the upcoming Volkswagen B-SUV with seven seats is expected to become more affordable than the popular Touareg thanks to the use of the MQB modular platform. Additional details on the model will be announced sometimes next year when VW should give its final approval for the project.
