Volkswagen is planning to introduce the brand new Jetta Hybrid in Germany starting with 2013.
After it was officially presented to the public for the first time in its final production version during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, the new Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid is getting ready to be introduced to its home market where the German based automaker says it will arrive in 2013. According to the car manufacturer, the VW Jetta Hybrid will arrive in Germany in mid-April, 2013, and the model will go on sale from 31,300 euros (40,600 USD), which is significantly more than the one going on sale in the United States from 19,900 euros (25,790 USD).
The new Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid is powered by a 1.4 liter turbocharged gasoline engine, which is producing 147 HP (150 PS) and it has a peak torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft), along with an electric motor, generating 20 kW (27 HP). The total output stands at 168 HP (170 PS) and power is sent to the front wheels through a standard seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The Jetta Hybrid is burning 4.1 L / 100 km (57.4 mpg US / 68.9 mpg UK) and the CO2 emissions stop at 95 g/km.
