Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus has recently unveiled the 2013 ES, during the 2012 New York Auto Show.
According to the Japanese based car manufacturer, the 2013 ES is coming with LED infused headlights, a spindle grille, wraparound taillights, a dual exhaust system for the ES 350 and a unique rear fascia with the hidden exhaust system for the ES 300h. Lexus says that both models will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in low-rolling resistance tires. The cabin of the two models has been equipped with metallic accents, wood trim, an analog clock, the second-gen Remote Touch Interface to control the infotainment system, a Mark Levinson audio system,, leather or semi-aniline leather seats and a blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert.
The 2013 Lexus ES is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine in the ES 350 and by a hybridized 2.5 liter four-cylinder unit in the 300h which is able to return an average fuel economy rating of 40 mpg (US). Even if the two models have been officially presented to the public at the over-seas automotive event, Lexus is keeping the performance specifications a secret for the moment, but these might actually turn out to be the same as on the Toyota Camry. The 2013 Lexus ES will go on sale in the United States later this year.
