The Japanese automaker has decided to tease us to the all new 2017 Impreza that will feature its official worldwide premiere later on this month during the upcoming New York Auto Show.
The model is not really an unknown as the Impreza has had two forerunners in the Impreza 5-Door and Impreza Sedan prototypes outed last year and the new generation Impreza will be the official introduction of the “Prominence 2020” program announced back in May 2014. It’s also going to be the first to run on the recently revealed Subaru Global Platform architecture – though we can all imagine the real Impreza will be a tad less exciting than the concepts the automaker used to preview it. Without revealing too many details, the Japanese producer has tipped its new architecture would deliver an enhanced driving dynamic, a better all-round experience and will also be more comfortable due to lower NVH levels. They also said the new global platform has been designed to be 70 to 100 percent more rigid compared to the outgoing models and will lower body roll by a massive 50 percent thanks to the new stabilizer mounted directly to the body.
The teaser for now depicts just part of the front end and as such we have no idea yet if Subaru looks to reveal both the sedan and hatchback during the same event – the New York Auto Show – though chances are the automaker would deliver just one of them to be able to attract the attention with the second during another event. Anyways, the Impreza will be revealed to the world beginning with March 23 when the show has its press day.
