The future generation of the popular Audi Q7 is believed to be officially presented to the public, for the very first time, in early 2015, during the NAIAS, in Detroit.
The announcement hasn’t been made in an official environment but more as a question asked by Indian Autos Blog, at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, last week. This has been answered by the member of the Board of Management of Audi AG and the head of Audi’s Technical Development, Ulrich Hackenberg.
“If you make a trip to Detroit, you’ll see it”, was his answer when he was asked when will the new Q7 be unveiled.
The 2016 Audi Q7 will be riding on the MLB Evo architecture, signed by Volkswagen, which should make it significantly lighter than its predecessor, by as much as 360 kg. This means that the handling will be improved, along with the performance, the fuel consumption and the CO2 emissions. Rumors are saying that the model in question might be coming with an electric turbocharged engine, along with an e-tron version and several other petrol and diesel burners. More details on the 2016 Audi Q7 will probably be announced during the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), in January.
