The German based automaker Audi is believed to be introducing the new generation of the R8 in a couple of months, during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
With the unveiling of the Lamborghini Huracan already taking place, time has come to talk about its German cousin, the Audi R8. The supercar has been already in development for quite some time now, as spy shots have concluded, and it is seems that it is finally ready for its public debut. According to a recent report, published by the guys from Car Advice, the model in question will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, this March.
“…will be introduced with the successor of the R8, and we will have first example of the car … in next March, at Geneva, so you will see, it’s done”, said Ulrich Hackenberg, the Audi board member for technical development, to our source.
The 2016 Audi R8 should be riding on the same platform as the Lamborghini Gallardo replacement. The supercar will also share the same 5.2 liter V10 unit, from the Huracan, most likely, along with other features. The design should be evolutionary which will make it instantly recognizable and rumor has it that a “green” version of the supercar, with the “tron” word in its name, should be also introduced, in the near future. More details on the 2016 Audi R8 are limited for the moment and will be announced probably during the Swiss automotive event.
