Next-gen BMW 3-Series planned for 2018 image

A new generation of the popular BMW 3-Series is expected to be introduced sometimes in 2018.

Despite officially introducing a facelifted version of the current BMW 3-Series generation just a couple of weeks ago, the German based automaker seems to plan the next generation of the model. According to a recent report, the vehicle in question should be introduced sometimes in 2018. The report is telling us that the next BMW 3-Series generation should come with an evolutionary design and with a lot of technologies coming from underneath its body.

Some of the technologies used on the car include the voice activation and gesture control, coming on the large touch screen display providing support for them. The vehicle will also get the remote controlled parking, the semi-autonomous tech, the power kit, the beefier sports brakes, the larger head-up display and several other goodies which should make it an even more appealing ride.

The 2019 BMW 3-Series is also expected to come with 30 HP and 30 Nm more on the 3.0 liter engines while the range-topping M3 and M4 will be benefiting from straight-six units, with e-chargers and water injection, allowing them to produce a total output of 500 HP (373 kW). These top of the line models will continue to be offered with rear-wheel drive but a hotter M350i variant with 420 HP will be using xDrive. A couple of plug-in hybrid versions will also be introduced onto the model.
