The next generation of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe is said to be significantly updated as the model in question will probably get a 5.0 liter V8 engine under its hood.
While the future is not that certain for the Hyundai Veloster, which might not receive a second generation, the South Korean based automaker has some big plans for the next Genesis Coupe, which is said to be significantly updated. The model in question is rumored to get a version of the carmaker’s Tau 5.0 liter V8 engine, which is currently producing 420 HP in the Genesis luxury sedan.
If this happens, than the next-gen Hyundai Genesis V8 will sit above the four-cylinder turbocharged and the V6 models. Besides adding the new engine to the model in question, this will also get some significant styling updates as it will be inspired by the HND-9 Concept, which has been seen at the Seoul Motor Show, back in 2013. The one-off vehicle had the Fluidic Sculpture design with butterfly doors, elongated hood, hexagonal front grille, dual exhaust on both sides and 22-inch alloy wheels. The HND-9 Concept was powered by a 3.3L GDI turbocharged unit, with 362 HP (270 kW), connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
