The first official sketch with the next generation of the Mazda MX-5 has recently hit the web ahead of the model’s public debut which will take place later on this month, during the 2014 New York Auto Show.
The Japanese based automaker Mazda is currently working on a new generation of the popular MX-5 roadster as the model in question will be officially presented to the public during the automotive event which will take place in the Big Apple, later on this month. The first official sketch with the new Mazda MX-5 has been published by the guys at Carscoops and this is a great preview of the final production model.
The 2015 Mazda MX-5 has been created using the Kodo design language and we can clearly see the more aggressive lines added to it. Rumors are saying that the new roadster generation will be riding on a lightweight platform and it will use new engines with four cylinders and 1.5 and 2.0 liter displacements. Rear-wheel drive will be retained for the new Mazda MX-5 generation and it seems that the model in question will be sharing about 40 percent of components with the Alfa Romeo Spider. More details on the 2015 Mazda MX-5 (Miata) will be announced in New York.
