Next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class looks good in new rendering image

But it’s not here to stay at this point because the 3-pointed star still hasn’t pulled the wraps officially off its body, at the moment.

There is no surprise anymore that Mercedes-Benz is currently working on a new generation of the E-Class, but what comes as something new includes its design, its features, its performance, technology and so on, because no one outside the company knows anything on these topics. The image posted above is nothing more than a simple rendering, put together by RMDesign, in order to give us a glimpse on what the next-gel of the full sized premium vehicle will be looking like.

The actual design of the car isn’t surprising us because we have seen enough spy shots of the vehicle over these past few months and we all know that it will get similar lines to the new C-Class and S-Class. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be riding on the MRA platform and it will increase in size compared to the current model, while losing some weight in the process. As far as the engine lineup goes, a lot of units will be added, including a family of straight six-cylinder engines and a new 2.9 liter diesel, producing 313 HP (233 kW). The quad turbocharged version of the same unit is also planned and this will come with 400 HP (298 kW). The next-gen E-Class is expected to be made at the 2016 NAIAS, in January.
