The future generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer is the subject of a rendering which might provide us with a glimpse into the upcoming model.
The Japanese based automaker Mitsubishi has recently introduced the Evo X Final Concept, a last hurrah for the popular model, but it has also announced its plans of not producing a new Evo. However, that doesn’t mean that we won’t get to see a regular Lancer on the road, in the near future, in a new generation. The two images posted below, which have been signed by Theophilus Chin, are providing us with a look into how the upcoming model may be like.
The next generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer is believed to be based on a Renault or a Nissan model so do expect a revolutionary design, with new powertrain options probably sourced from one of the two companies mentioned above, new materials for the cabin and, probably, a better overall model. If Renaultsport or Nismo will be involved into the development of the new car, we might see an Evo version, but, at this time, we can dare to say that such a model will not see daylight in the near future. More details on the new Lancer are limited at this time.
