Andy Palmer has confirmed the next generation of the Nissan GT-R will receive a hybrid powertrain.
The Japanese based automaker Nissan is currently planning to introduce a new generation of the GT-R over the next couple of years and the model in question will keep up with its times, in which people like to hug trees, for some reason. The next generation of the iconic sports car will receive a hybrid powertrain under its hood. The announcement has been made by Andy Palmer, the Nissan sales and marketing boss, who has recently spoken to the guys at Autocar.
“I’d expect to see some form of hybridization on the next generation of the car”, said Andy Palmer, referring to the future Nissan GT-R generation.
The new generation of the Nissan GT-R is expected to be officially presented to the public sometimes in 2015, but the company’s boss didn’t provide an exact date for when the new GT-R will finally hit the market. In other related news, the Nissan GT-R Nismo has lapped the famous Nurburgring and its official time will be announced later on this month, during the 2013 Tokyo International Motor Show. Sebastien Buemi was apparently the quickest out of four drivers to tackle the Ring in the GT-R Nismo.
