The next generation of the Nissan Qashqai will receive a 1.2 liter turbo engine under its hood, once it will hit the market.
The 2015 Nissan Qashqai was believed to make its public debut during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but it seems that the company has played its games too good and the model unveiled was actually the new generation of the X-Trail. Now, with a lot of months left until the model will become available for order, a rumor is saying that the new Qashqai will get a 1.2 liter turbo engine. We’re talking about the DiG-T, which made its way onto several Renault vehicles and onto the facelifted Duster too.
The 1.2 liter DiG-T, with its 125 HP on the Dacia Duster, is said to gain just 115 HP once it will be fitted onto the new Qashqai and, by the time of its launch, it will be the only petrol engine available for the model. Eventually, the Nissan Qashqai 2 will get a 1.5 liter dCi diesel engine, with 110 HP, and a 1.6 dCi diesel engine, producing 130 HP. The model in question will be based on the Hi-Cross Concept, originally unveiled last year, during the Geneva Motor Show.
