Smart is planning to introduce the new generations of the ForTwo and ForFour next year, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The automaker is currently keeping the new generations of the Smart ForTwo and Smart ForFour into the shadows but the guys at autoblog.it are saying that the two models will be officially presented to the public in September next year, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Smart ForTwo will hit this year’s Paris Motor Show but in a concept form, which will anticipate the final production version of the popular model and rumors are saying that the prototype will be almost identical to the future production variant.
Our source is saying that the new generation of the Smart ForTwo will be based on a completely new platform which might be used by Renault for its Twingo model, after Mercedes-Benz and Renault-Nissan have signed a partnership. The two Smart models, the ForTwo and the ForFour, will use a rear engine in order to save on cabin space. The future generation of the Smart ForTwo and Smart ForFour are expected to arrive at dealerships at the end of 2013.
