The new generation of the Smart ForTwo has been recently spied on public roads, where the model was being tested.
Daimler is currently developing a new generation of the Smart ForTwo, for a few months now, and the model has been already spied numerous times while it was being tested on public roads, and not only. The newest images with a test mule of the 2015 Smart ForTwo have been provided by our spy photographers who have managed to catch the model on camera once again. The pictures posted below are obviously showing a camouflaged version of the model but we can still see a new front fascia, a different rear end and new wheels design, which now have four screws.
The new generation of the Smart ForTwo is expected to get an improved ride, more space in the cabin, some new technologies and an entirely new engine lineup, which might also meet a Renault unit. Besides the new Smart ForTwo generation, the carmaker is also planning to produce a small crossover, which is believed to tackle the MINI Countryman. This is believed to get a rear engine and a rear-wheel drive layout. More details on this model and on the new ForTwo generation are limited for the moment and will probably be announced next year, during a major automotive event.
