The next generation of the Volkswagen Passat has been recently spied on public roads, where it was being tested for the first time.
The Volkswagen Passat is getting ready to receive a new generation as our spy photographers have recently found out after catching the model on camera. The new generation of the Volkswagen Passat is far away from its public debut and launch as it is believed to hit showrooms sometimes in 2015. This can only be considered as good news because the German based automaker will significantly improve its popular model and make it even more appealing to its future customers.
The new 2016 Volkswagen Passat pictured below is a prototype which has been spied in hot weather testing in the United States. The model in question will ride on the new MQB platform, also used on the Golf 7, new Audi A3, new Skoda Octavia, new Seat Leon and more. Underneath the familiar body, everything has been changed but Volkswagen will not update the design of the model just yet, as the technical parts are yet more important. Rumors are saying that the new VW Passat will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model should hit dealerships right after the event.
