Volkswagen is currently working on a new generation of the Touran which is believed to make its way onto the market by the end of the year.
With the current generation of the Touran being based on a stretched Golf Mk5 platform, the future one had to be based on the modular MQB, which is currently being used on the new-gen Golf, on the new Audi A3, on the Seat Leon and so on. The model in question will also get a new look, with more pronounced front end and rear fascia. Its design will not affect the distinctive look, but it should make it hotter into the eyes of customers looking for a vehicle in this segment.
The 2015 Volkswagen Touran will get some modern systems such as the Easy Fold System for all seats and, for the first time ever, it will also get a BlueMotion technology, which will allow it to burn less fuel and to emit less CO2. It’s not currently known what engines the MPV will get once the new generation will be introduced but chances are we will be looking at the 1.2 liter TSI petrol, producing 105 HP, and the 2.0 liter TDI, with 150 HP. More details on the new Touran will be announced over the following months, when it’s expected to be officially unveiled.
